Member Update: Before our staff respond to questions regarding your specific accounts or activity, we are obligated to find workable ways to ensure the person we are dealing with is who he or she says, specifically is the person who purports to be a member really that member.
Our staff will ask the caller questions that only the actual member should be able to answer correctly. This security measure is gaining popularity and commonly referred to as "out of wallet" questions. Effectively weeding out pretext callers and blocking account takeovers requires this more creative approach. We will ask callers something only the true member is likely to know - not a piece of data that can be gained from a stolen wallet or a little research on the Internet.

C.A.H.P. Credit Union takes the security of our members’ accounts very seriously. For this reason, in today’s global environment of increasing plastic fraud, we are taking the necessary fraud and loss measures to protect our membership.
CAHPCU utilizes a comprehensive fraud monitoring service that evaluates normal card use. Overseas or out-of-state purchases are generally deemed suspicious and the fraud monitoring program will try to contact the member for verification of the transactions. If the members are not available due to their travels the program may block their cards in an effort to protect members from fraudulent charges.
If you are traveling abroad and planning on using your CAHPCU Visa Card, we recommend that you notify us of the dates of travel and the countries that you will be visiting, plus a cell phone number if possible. This allows us to notate your account and work with the fraud monitoring services to help ensure you have access to your funds. This is as simple as phoning the Credit Union at 800.542.2247.
Travel Note:
The United States Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) requires financial institutions to monitor, decline and report transaction activity for countries against which the United States has imposed financial sanctions. Effective April 21, 2008, transaction activity may be denied from OFAC countries that have financial sanctions. These countries are listed in the table below:
