Money Market Accounts

C.A.H.P. Credit Union offers Money Market accounts for solid growth. A CAHPCU Money Market Account (MMA) is your next step up from our Regular Share Accounts. An MMA generally requires a little more cash to open than a savings account, but our CAHPCU MMAs offer a higher rate of return.

CAHPCU Money Market Accounts are for Members looking for a good return, but want liquidity.  Once you've accumulated a three to six-month safety net for expenses in a 'rainy day' account, you might consider an MMA. You can withdraw from your CAHPCU MMA up to six times a month (federal regulation); the first three free of charge. And since check-writing is limited, this is a good resource for paying those one-time expenses – such as when your refrigerator quits or for a down payment on a car or home.

CAHPCU offers Classic, Platinum and Magnum money market options designed to allow you saving flexibility and provide you with excellent returns.

Remember:
  • MMAs usually have higher dividend rates than traditional savings accounts
  • MMAs are liquid, you may write checks against the account
  • Dividends are paid monthly
  • MMA funds may be conveniently accessed through Call-24 or @ccess-24 Home Banking
  • Automatic Deposit can make building your MMA that much easier
  • Deposits are insured up to $500,000 per account
