Explorer Club
(for members age 13-17)
It's a special time when a young person becomes a teenager, that's why we developed the Explorer Club Account. This account offers greater ATM access** compared to our other Youth Accounts, and has some exciting bonuses.
Explorer Club Checking Account
In order to encourage financial responsibility, students must read a pamphlet and pass a test on basic checking account ownership. Additionally, Explorer Club members who read a pamphlet and pass a basic credit skills test may apply for a Visa Credit Card. A parent or guardian co-signer is required for Explorer Checking and Explorer Visa accounts.
PLUS: Explorer Checking earns 0.10% APY on balances of $50.00 or more.
Explorer Club members also enjoy the highest ATM withdrawal* limits of all youth club members. When Explorer Club members reach 16 years of age, they may apply for an Explorer Club checking account, complete with their own Visa Debit Card. At age 16, they may also apply for a Visa Credit Card with a special design, signifying their status as an Explorer Club member. Explorer Club members will automatically convert to a regular member on their 18th birthday.
Simply fill out a Membership Application and fill in the box for "Explorer Club." There is a one-time membership fee of $5, and the minimum balance requirement for a Explorer Club account is $50. If you are currently a CAHPCU member between 13 and 17 years of age, you can convert to a Explorer Club Account at no charge.

* Five free ATM withdrawals per month. After that, $1 each. Fee dates on ATM withdrawals run from the 27th of the month through the 26th of the following month.
